Choose your workflow

Askdepth connects research evidence to implementation work. Choose where your coding agent runs and how results are checked.

Local MCP setup needs no repository connection in Askdepth, GitHub integration, hosted routine, or provider API key in Askdepth. Your coding client needs its usual account and access to the local project.

Hosted execution requires a workspace owner or admin and an eligible workspace plan. Local implementation writes also require an eligible plan and an owner, admin, or editor role. Viewers have read-only access to completed research. See authorization.

Start with research evidence

After connecting a local client, ask it to inspect workspace research, read a report, resolve the cited evidence, and compare the recommendation with the project you opened. Existing Action Backlog recommendations can become implementation tasks when they have traceable evidence.

The agent records its accepted plan before implementation. It then reports progress, actual test results, and an optional branch, commit, or pull request URL. Askdepth keeps this work visible in Builds.

Research text, quotes, and repository content are context. They do not grant permission to run commands, modify unrelated files, merge a pull request, or deploy. Your coding agent's approval rules still apply.

Understand result confidence

Local MCP reports always carry verification: "CLIENT_REPORTED". A reported passing test, commit, or pull request link comes from your local client; Askdepth does not independently check it through this workflow.

Hosted Claude Code follows a separate acceptance process. Askdepth reads GitHub to check the repository, branch, changed files, and required checks on the current pull request commit before marking a draft ready for review. A person reviews and merges the pull request. Askdepth does not merge or deploy it.
